RAIN ROOM ONLY SESSIONS

PREP GUIDE

Hey there! You’ve booked a RAIN ROOM ONLY session and your pics are going to look amazing! I know it took a lot of guts to commit and you might be nervous or have questions! This Guide gives you all the nitty gritty on how to prep, but honestly, your biggest job is just showing up.

WTF DO I WEAR?

The best answer:

DON’T. OVER. THINK. IT.

Most clients assume they need to purchase a bunch of lingerie for this but that’s not true. You are not required to wear lingerie. Some really popular options are:

• Thin White Tank Top (cropped or regular) with a Thong
• Bodysuits (I recommend a thong back and material should be thin)
• Bikini or One piece swimsuit
• Just Fishnets
• Just a Thong
• Nude

I SUGGEST STAYING AWAY FROM:

• Anything with cutsie patterns (hearts etc)
• Ruffles or excessive Lace

HAIR + MAKEUP

*Note: These sessions do NOT include on-site hair + makeup. For one thing, this is a wet look and your hair is going to be drenched. Also, there are no traditional face shots and the room is overall very dark. You don’t need to have makeup. If you are set on having it done however, we have a list of Michigan stylists that may be able to provide these services for you before you arrive for your session. Please inquire if you would like the list.

Foundation: You can get away with no foundation for these shoots. I’d suggest not even bothering if it’s a powder version.

Hair: Your hair is going to be drenched. Just come with clean dry hair.

Lipstick: You can apply a lipstick and you might want to bring it to the session for touch ups.

Mascara: You can apply a waterproof mascara, but be aware that there is no 100% waterproof mascara. It may run and you don’t need to panic. If it does I will take care of it in editing.

ACCESSORIES

JEWELRY:

Totally optional. But if you’re going to bring it, fyi really delicate small jewely does not really show up in the photos. If you want jewelry to show it should be big, chunky and noticeable.

SHOES

Do not bring any shoes. The floor on the Rain Room is slick and heels are forbidden.

SKIN + NAILS

SKIN:

You don’t need to concern yourself in the event you have any acne, bruises etc. Editing will take care of that.

I SUGGEST NOT HAVING:

• A bad ‘farmer’s tan.’ If you have really uneven skin, it can edited somewhat but just be aware that it doesn’t photograph that great. I’d recommend getting a spray tan to help even you out if that’s the case.

NAILS

While we will do some shots involving hands, you don’t need to have perfect nails for this.

OTHER FAQs

How many outfits should I wear?
I’d suggest you stick to no more than 2 outfits. You don’t want to be dedicating too much of your shoot time to changing.

What if I need to utilize something out of the Rain Room wardrobe?
You can totally access and use any of the items that will be pulled for these shoots. Please be aware they are mostly a mix of body suits, tank tops, fishnets and other items. It’s best you bring at least one outfit of your own and perhaps a plain black thong if you wish to use a studio outfit.

Where will I be able to change? There is a private changing area for you to undress. If you need help with straps, lace-ups etc., just let me know.

I’m worried about the posing, I don’t know what I’m doing.
That’s totally fine. I will show you how to pose and if there’s anything you physically cannot do, it’s not an issue. Your comfort is the #1 priority.

How long will all this take?
You are scheduled for an hour and I estimate 15 minutes for one outfit change and 45 minutes of shooting give or take.

Will the water be warm?
For the most part, yes. There may be instances where a body part will require an extra spray (via a bottle) and that water is more room temperature.

Can I bring a friend to my Rain Room Session?
Unfortunately due to liability issues, third parties to hang out  If someone is driving with you to your session, there are a few restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance of the studio to visit while you’re in your session.

Also, our studio is not child-friendly whatsoever—leave the kiddos at home.

Do I need to bring towels?
You can bring your own if you’d like but there will be towels ready for you after the session.

What happens after my session? How long until I see images?
You will be contacted within 2 weeks to schedule your Zoom Reveal.

Are all the images edited? Yes.

Should I come earlier than my scheduled time?
Nope. Your scheduled time is the start time for you to be there. Please do not show up super early as there might still be a session in progress.

Where is the studio?
We are located at 220 East Washington in St. Louis, Michigan (its a red, Victorian house on the corner of M-46 and Clinton Street).

Where should I park?
You are more than welcome to park right in the driveway (accessible from Clinton Street). The easiest door to come in is the back entrance (the one that faces the driveway). If you prefer to park in the street, there is side street parking as well. If you need help carrying your items, just text me at 989.313.6304 and let us know to come help!

How much are the extra images if I want more?
Should you want more than the 3 images that are included with your session, there will be digitals, a small album and metal prints available.
