I’ll be 59 in a few months. And yes, age was a factor in wanting to be involved.

I love that I am almost 60 and this ‘old’ body can still do wonderful things. Whether I’m trekking a long distance bike ride, tackling a home renovation project and wielding a drill, leading a fitness class, or curling up with a good book on a Sunday afternoon – my mantra of strong mind & strong body has always proven as truth.

I’ve always been an advocate of ‘self-love’, but I rarely espoused to it. I look around and see the beauty in the women around me —whether its their quiet strength, bold voices, beautiful smiles or just great hair! But I never saw the beauty in me. I’m just a regular woman, nothing special. But that’s the beauty! I have curves where I shouldn’t and no curves where I should, some would say I am too skinny, I feel otherwise. And that is completely ok. I love that I can do things to support my good health. I do not take that for granted. I want to be 80 and still dance up a storm!

I’m a very shy, introverted person. And while I’m self-conscious about my less-than-perfect body, I was not uncomfortable at all. Trish makes you feel very confident, as in ‘yeah, I can do this, easy peasy!’. Her humor and wit are spot on, I connected immediately with her.

I can honestly say that working with Trish has done wonders for my self confidence. Of course I had the all the normal thoughts – ‘I should lose weight’, ‘I should work out like a fiend before’, ‘I should fast’…but when all said and done, I did not lose weight, I didn’t work out like a fiend, I didn’t fast, and I felt beautiful and badass. All because of Trish.”

Advice to future BLP Participants:

“I’m going to echo what every other woman who has done this has said…DO IT.  You are not too old, you are not too heavy, you are not too shy….you are perfect, absolutely and utterly perfect. ”
