BODY LOVE FEATURE: Ms. N, 36

I’ve spent the last few years realizing that regardless of how it makes others feel,  I should feel no guilt that I love my body and want to show it off.

From a young age, I was comfortable with my own body. I was self-conscious about certain areas, but wasn’t ashamed to show some skin at the beach or when working out.  The older I got, however, the more others critique my choice reveal my body to others.  As a mother of three and a professional, people expected that I stay completely covered, and for a long time I decided to appease these individuals and wear clothing I didn’t honestly like or even feel comfortable in.  Instead of this helping me develop positive body image, I began to feel shame for the way I look, like it was wrong for a mom to feel proud of her physique. My body has been dubbed ‘too sexy,’ ‘too risque’, ‘too provocative’,  and even ‘inappropriate’.  These labels have been hurtful and have even challenged my character.  So I’ve spent the last few years realizing that regardless of how it makes others feel, I should feel no guilt that I love my body and want to show it off.

It’s my mission to encourage women to follow their dreams regardless of their age working status. Trish made me feel so comfortable that I didn’t feel any discomfort at all being scantily clothed.  The poses were tasteful and she accentuated my assets in an environment that allowed my to feel sexy and classy at the same time.  Trish knows exactly how I should position my body to create out-of-this-world photos.

Advice to future BLP Participants:

Do this…for yourself!  You will not regret your choice.
